MediHeat Electric Heater Troubleshooting Guide
If your heater shuts off and will not turn back on, you are more than likely experiencing one of two issues:
Issue 1 - High-limit switch failure
Issue 2 - Faulty thermostat
How to determine which issue the heater is having:
After the heater turns itself off, switch the bottom knob to the blue fan setting.
-If the fan runs without heat, the problem is the thermostat.
-If the fan will not turn on, the problem is the high-limit switch.

How to fix high-limit switch failure:
-
Unplug the heater. This will allow the high-limit switch to reset.
-
Take a LARGE drill bit and add some holes to the back and sides of the heater housing (small box that holds the electric heater). This should give the (Mediheat) electric heater more ventilation.

How to fix a faulty thermostat:
-
Smucker Manufacturing will send you a new thermostat, and a security bit to open the side of the heater. Thermostat installation instructions will be included.
We have resolved this issue on future models by adding a larger intake vent to the back of the heater housing.
